Your journey begins with a scenic drive through the magnificent Rif Mountains. We’ll pass through the city of Tetouan before ascending to Chefchaouen, a stunning village nestled at the foot of the mountains. You’ll have the evening to explore its charming medina, with a Spanish-influenced main square surrounded by artisan shops and rooftop cafés, perfect for enjoying the beautiful natural surroundings.
After a delicious breakfast, we travel towards the ancient Roman city of Volubilis, passing through the town of Ouazan and scenic Rif villages. At Volubilis, you will explore the remarkably preserved ruins and gain insight into Morocco’s rich history. We then continue to the 17th-century imperial city of Meknes for lunch. Here, we’ll explore the historical medina walls, admire the grand Bab el-Mansour gate, and visit the Moulay Ismail Mausoleum before heading to Fes for the night.
Today is dedicated to exploring Fes, the oldest city in Morocco. We will navigate its narrow alleys and bustling streets, starting with the magnificent Royal Palace gate and the historic Jewish Quarter (Mellah), the first of its kind in Morocco. Your guided tour will cover all sites of cultural and historical importance, including the legendary Al Quaraouine University, the famous Tanneries, and the Attarine Museum. After lunch, we’ll visit a traditional tile cooperative before ending the day with a wonderful panoramic view over the entire Fes medina.
We embark on a scenic drive south towards the Sahara, traveling through the impressive Tiz Ntalghamt pass and the Ziz Gorge. As we approach Errachidia, you’ll see the landscape transform, revealing the first hints of the desert. After a lunch break, our journey follows the lush Ziz Valley, with stops for panoramic views. We pass through Erfoud (renowned for its fossils) before arriving in Merzouga in the afternoon. Here, you’ll be welcomed with mint tea before embarking on a camel trek to your desert camp for a night of Berber music, sandboarding, and stargazing.
An early start rewards you with a spectacular sunrise over the Erg Chebbi dunes—a truly unforgettable sight. We will return by camel to your hotel for breakfast and a refreshing shower. Leaving the desert behind, we journey through the dramatic Saghro mountains towards the Todra Gorge, an impressive canyon where you can take a short walk between its towering rock walls. The day concludes as we arrive in the beautiful Dades Valley for dinner and an overnight stay.
After breakfast, we travel the famous “Road of a Thousand Kasbahs” through the Dades Valley towards Ouarzazate. We’ll visit this cinematic city, known as the “Hollywood of Morocco,” before exploring the magnificent Aït Ben Haddou Kasbah. As the largest and most famous kasbah in Morocco, this UNESCO World Heritage site is a must-see. Our journey then continues across the spectacular High Atlas Mountains, offering panoramic views of attractive Berber villages along the way, before we arrive in Marrakech for the night.
A full day is devoted to exploring Marrakech, the “Red City of Morocco.” Your expert local guide will ensure you see the most important historical and cultural sites, including the serene Majorelle Gardens, the iconic Koutoubia Tower, the historic Saadian Tombs, and the opulent Bahia Palace. After lunch at a restaurant near the legendary Djemaa el-Fna square, you will have time to wander through the vibrant souks, where you can admire local handicrafts.
