Your Moroccan adventure begins! Upon arrival at Tangier’s airport or port, our team will greet you and escort you to your hotel. Depending on your arrival time, you may begin exploring the city’s coastal charm this afternoon.
After breakfast, we will begin our journey south to Rabat. Our route follows the scenic Atlantic coast, passing through charming towns like Larache. Upon arriving in Rabat, the capital of Morocco, you will have lunch at your hotel.
Afterwards, you will explore the city’s key landmarks: the Oudayas Kasbah, the iconic Hassan Tower, and the Mohammed V Mausoleum. We will then take a trip to Casablanca to witness the magnificent Hassan II Mosque before returning to Rabat for dinner and your overnight stay.
Following breakfast in Rabat, we will depart for the imperial city of Fes. The drive will take you through beautiful countryside, with fertile plains rich with olive groves, cereals, and vegetables. Along the way, we will stop to explore the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis, the southernmost outpost of the Roman Empire. We will then continue to Meknes, the city built by Sultan Moulay Ismail, for lunch.
Your visit here will include the monumental Bab Mansour gate, the Moulay Ismail palace, and the impressive Heri es-Souani, which housed the royal stables and granaries. In the afternoon, we complete our journey to Fes, the ancient capital of Morocco and a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Immerse yourself in the world’s most vibrant living medina with a local guide. Explore the architectural marvels of the Al-Attarine Madrasa and the Bou Inania Madrasa, see the famous Nejarine Fountain, and witness artisans at work in the traditional leather tanneries and craft quarters. A visit to the historic Jewish Quarter highlights centuries of co-existence.
We embark on a scenic journey south towards the Sahara Desert. Our route takes us through Ifrane, known as “Morocco’s Switzerland,” and the cedar forests of Azrou, home to friendly Barbary macaque monkeys. After a lunch stop in Midelt, the landscape transforms as we drive through the Ziz Valley’s vast palm groves, arriving at the edge of the mesmerizing Erg Chebbi sand dunes.
Immerse yourself in the Sahara with a full day dedicated to exploring the Erg Chebbi region. After breakfast, we will visit the village of Khamlia to experience the unique spiritual music of the Gnawa people. We will also see the seasonal Lake Dayet Srij, a haven for diverse bird species, including flamingos.
You may also visit a local workshop to see Amazigh handicrafts. After lunch and some time to relax at your hotel, you will meet your camel guide and embark on a memorable trek into the vast sand dunes. You will arrive at a traditional Berber desert camp to enjoy dinner under the stars, listen to local music around a campfire, and spend the night in a comfortable tent.
Wake up early to witness a spectacular sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast, you will ride your camel back to the auberge to freshen up. We then begin our drive to Ouarzazate, passing through Rissani, the former capital of the Tafilalt region. Our journey takes us to the dramatic Todra Gorges, a stunning canyon carved by the Todra River. We will continue along the famous “Road of a Thousand Kasbahs,” admiring the stunning Dades Valley and the lush Skoura palm grove. Upon arriving in Ouarzazate, the “Hollywood of Africa,” we will see some of its famed film studios before checking into our hotel for dinner.
After breakfast, the journey to Marrakech begins. We travel through the Valley of Roses, which is especially beautiful and fragrant in the spring. Our main destination is the magnificent Ksar of Aït Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site and a famous filming location for movies like Gladiator and Lawrence of Arabia, where we will stop for lunch.
Next, we will embark on the breathtaking drive over the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka pass, stopping for photos of the incredible views. Finally, we will descend from the mountains and arrive in the vibrant “Red City” of Marrakech.
Discover the magic of Marrakech with a full-day guided tour. You will explore historical landmarks such as the Koutoubia Mosque, the opulent Bahia Palace, and the Dar Si Said Museum of jewelry. The tour also includes a visit to the tranquil Menara Gardens and the enchanting Majorelle Gardens. For lunch, your guide will recommend a traditional restaurant in the medina.
