Day-by-day itinerary
Errachidia to Merzouga
We meet you at Errachidia airport or your hotel and start south along the Ziz Valley's palm groves, passing Erfoud on the way to Merzouga. There the camels are waiting for the roughly hour-long ride into the Erg Chebbi dunes, timed so you reach camp around sunset. Dinner and the night are at the desert camp.
Merzouga to Dades Valley
Sunrise from the dunes, breakfast at camp, then we turn west. First Khamlia, for Gnawa music and tea with a nomadic family, and Rissani, the trading town at the end of the old caravan route. The afternoon brings Todra Gorge, where the canyon walls rise about 300 meters on either side of a narrow river bed — there's time to walk in. We carry on along the valley road to the Dades Valley for the night.
Dades Valley to Marrakech
The last day takes you through the Valley of Roses around Kelaat M'Gouna and the palm oasis of Skoura, with its old earthen kasbahs, before the climb over the High Atlas on the Tizi n'Tichka pass. We come down the other side into Marrakech and drop you at your riad or hotel.

Why start a desert tour in Errachidia instead of Marrakech?

Can you pick us up at Errachidia airport?
Yes — at the airport or at your hotel in Errachidia. Share your flight details when you book.
Is this a private tour?
Yes, fully private — your own vehicle and driver-guide for all three days.
Which is the longest driving day?
Day 3, from the Dades Valley over the Tizi n'Tichka pass to Marrakech, is the longest — we break it up with regular stops.
Which meals are included?
Breakfast every morning, plus dinner at the desert camp and in the Dades Valley. Lunches and drinks are not included.
Can this tour finish in Fes instead?
Message us — we plan private routes around your dates, and we can suggest the best way to reach Fes from Merzouga.
What should we pack?
Layers for cold desert nights and cool mountain passes, sun protection, and comfortable shoes for the dunes and the walk into Todra Gorge.
Do prices change with group size?
Yes — the per-person rate drops as the group grows. Send us your dates and group size for a quote.
